Description
Jessi Colter Personally Owned 1986 KCBQ Free Concert Appreciation Plaque W/COA - This plaque was presented to country music legend Jessi Colter on August 31, 1986, as a gesture of appreciation from the radio station KCBQ for Colter's participation in a free concert to honor the military personnel of San Diego. Born Mirriam Johnson in 1943, Colter was a frequent collaborator with her husband, Waylon Jennings, from the 1970s up until his death in 2002. She was also a member of the 1970s supergroup The Outlaws, alongside Jennings, Willie Nelson, and Tompall Glaser. Her husband is fondly known as the pioneer of the Outlaw Movement of country music, with Colter frequently honored as one of the only female voices to emerge from this subgenre. This lot includes the original certificate of authenticity issued by Jimmy Velvet, President and Chairman of The Legends Hall of Fame.
