Patent Timepiece, Aaron Willard (1757-1844), Roxbury, Massachusetts, c. 1815. Banjo clock with reverse painted glass panels of the U.S. seal in base and throat of case, each framed in blocked rope-twist gesso and giltwood molding, and the throat flanked by applied pierced-brass scrolls, the iron clockface and works behind convex glass door, surmounted by brass finial on plinth molding, pendulum inscribed 'A.
