Description
Chinese late Ming dynasty bronze figure of the Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara, also known as Guanyin, 17th century, China. Crowned, in dhoti and shawl with elongated earlobes having rosette earrings, swagged necklace, beads in hand, bow at front of dhoti, left arm on rail rest, right knee up in relaxed stance, interior having brick red paint over sand casting residue. 14 1/2" x 9" x 6", scattered losses to gilding, bend to front edge.
