Roman, Imperial period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A delightful ensemble of 4 carnelian intaglios, each carved with Roman iconography: Cupid (Greek Eros) riding a dolphin, Bacchus (Greek Dionysus) with a panther, a crowned and winged victory (Greek Nike), and a striding cow or bull. Size of largest (Cupid): 0.6" L x 0.5" W (1.5 cm x 1.3 cm)
