Description
An antique 19th-century French Empire gilt bronze mantel clock. Footed base supports four columns and the entablature. The columns have a relief swirl decor with acanthus motif. The clock face rests underneath the entablature between the columns. Round white enamel dial with Roman numerals and hallmark Gaston Jolly Fils A Paris. Francois-Pierre Jolly, known as Gaston-Jolly, was one of the most important Parisian horologists of the late 18th century and the early 19th century.
