Item Details

Description

Antique French Empire (style) Mantel clock of a dancing baccante in ormolu (sometimes called a "Death Clock") and patinated bronze. Marble base. Clock is untested, and mount is loose (though attached) to figurine. 10" (25.5 cm) tall. Base is 4.75" (12 cm) long. Weight: 3.8 pounds (1.7 kg). Small fracture in staff, immediately before clock mount is attached to the staff (see photos). (May be early 1800s).
