MERIDEN MALLEABLE IRON CO. JEWELED BRASS FRAME KEROSENE HANGING / LIBRARY LAMP, deep cranberry opalescent Hobnail umbrella shade, overall diamonds font vase and brass drop-in font, cast side scrolling arms with a large blue or red jewel to each side and foliate decoration applied in-between the arms, shell shade ring with space jewels in a variety of colors, cast-floral leveler, motor cover with motor, shade. Fitted with a later electrified burner, colorless slip chimney, and hanging prisms. Meriden Malleable Iron Company. Circa 1888. Shade 6 3/4" H, 13 7/8" D fitter.

Condition
Excellent condition overall with the shade having a few minor flakes to the fitter; shade ring having areas of solder repairs to the backside; font tank having some denting and a solder plug to the body, seems ill-fitting; some bending to the lower decoration and arms; some prisms having some minor imperfections including flaking. Shade having some roughness to the top rim, as made.
