VICTORIAN SPANISH LACE OPALESCENT GLASS AND METAL KEROSENE HANGING / LIBRARY LAMP, Vaseline opalescent (reacts under black light) petticoat shade, stamped brass font cup supporting a hanging lamp font marked for "THE B&H", scrolling support arms with a pair of jewels, stamped brass leveler, motor cover with motor, having a ribbed Vaseline opalescent (reacts under black light) smoke bell, and a Vaseline opalescent (reacts under black light) hanging match holder. Fitted with a period slip burner with flame spreader, colorless slip chimney, and pale amber hanging prisms. Various makers. Fourth quarter 19th/early 20th century. Shade: 5 3/4" H, 7" D upper fitter, 16" D lower rim.

Shade having two chips to the fitter; rigging virtually undamaged with perhaps some light denting/bending; flame spreader having light compression; jewels having surface crizzling; some prisms having minor imperfections including flaking.
