VICTORIAN OPALESCENT SWIRL AND JEWELLED KEROSENE HANGING / LIBRARY LAMP, deep cranberry opalescent Swirl umbrella-form shade fitted with two brass and jeweled overlay inserts, stamped brass font cup with squared supporting arms with jewels and foliate decoration, matching shade ring, leveler, motor cover with motor, shade crown, cranberry swirl smoke bell, and fitted with a cranberry opalescent Swirl font. Fitted with a period slip burner, having red, opalescent, and blue hanging prisms of different forms. Maker unverified. Late 19th/early 20th century. Shade 6 1/2" H, 13 3/4" D fitter.

Condition
Virtually undamaged with the opalescent jewel in the shade overlay insert being loose and easily falls out; some other possible minor imperfections such as light wear, denting, or bending; some prisms with minor imperfections including flaking.
