Description
CAST-IRON BRADLEY & HUBBARD CENTENNIAL HANGING LIBRARY LAMP, later black paint, harp-form frame with diamond and panel ornamentation, medial supporting a cast-iron font holder peg with embossed patent date to the underside, adjustable cast-iron shade ring, crown-form leveler with impressed patent date "OCT 31 1876", criss-cross form top medial with hook for smoke bell; fitted with a colorless and frosted font with star in a circle pattern and a side-refill feature, underside of base with recessed opening, No. 2 brass collar with patent information. Fitted with a period setup comprising a Plume & Atwood No. 2 Unique lip burner, opaque white conical-form shade, colorless chimney with flattened sides and matching decoration as font, and an opal smoke bell with an applied cobalt blue rim and attached metal hanging hook. Fourth quarter 19th century. Frame 38" HOA, font 3 3/4" H to top of collar.
