This is a Pre Columbian Colima red painted boat shaped pottery vessel with a long spout and lug handle. Dating to 1000-800 B.C. This lot was acquired from Spencer Throckmorton in October of 1992. Accompanied by their receipt. This item is described in a certified insurance appraisal dated November 18th 2003 by Harmer Johnson, Appraisers Association of America, prepared for Marshall and Kay J. Lee.
From the Upstate New York estate of Marshall and Kay Lee. Marshall was a well known collector of Pre-Columbian pottery and a talented and well-respected book designer in the publishing industry.
