Lawes, who thought it was created for indigenous use in the 1940s-1950s, having very faint traces of red and yellow pigments and once-sticky resin, good patina of use on its hanging hook at top, 19.5"h Provenance: B. Lawes, Milton Sikes Gallery, Gregory Ghent, since late 1960s in the collection of the late Dr. John and Dianne Anderson
