Description
Edo period dated (1862) child sekku armor. It was made by an armourer (katchushi) for the annual Boys day festival called Tango no sekku. The structure is Hon-Zukuri, which is the same as a regular big size samurai armor. These yoroi (armors) were dedicated to high-grade samurai and and Shogun family as a tribute. This one offers a stunning all-iron kabuto (helmet) with a very nice gold and blue-laced shikoro, and a very expressive all-iron menpo(face). Comes with its original hitsu (armor box) which measures 12 H x 11.5 x 14.5 inches
