Description

Made by the Althof Bergmann Company. New York City - Circa 1870 - 21 1/2" Long. American tin toys that portray firemen and their fire carriages are extremely rare and desirable. This particular vehicle is from a very early period, possibly shortly after the close of the Civil War. Inside the boiler, there appears to be a device that would actually allow the child to shoot water from it. There is some very nominal restoration but that is to be expected in a toy as large and as old as this spectacular pumper.
