1856 1ed Japanese Woodblock Shinto Buddhism Prayer Monk Edo Illustrated RARE
"信後相續 慶喜嘆" "Shin-go-so-ku Keiki-tan" is a woodblock print from 1856 of various poems and essays on Japanese spirituality and religion, including prayers and hymns to several Shinto and Buddhist deities. The table of contents includes titles such as "Prayer to the Three Honored Ones in the Ten Directions", "History and Origin of the Plum Trees at Hachibou", and "Hymn to the Great Deity of White Mountain". Other sections discuss topics such as the importance of following religious laws and customs, and the significance of different shrines and deities. The text sheds light on the religious beliefs and practices of Japan during the Meiji era.
