DURS RUDY, SR. (1766-1843) OR DURS RUDY, JR. (1789-1850) LEHIGH CO., PENNSYLVANIA FOLK ART FRAKTUR DRAWING / FRAGMENT, watercolor and ink on paper, depicting a couple in colorful clothing dancing with their arms raised up, the background featuring a fanciful column, the ground with later drawn lines in pencil, verso with ink inscription "Best and / that is so" interspersed with a later pencil inscription of "David / D Best 1845" and very faint, illegible writing. Unframed. First half 19th century. 3 7/8" x 4 3/8" OA.

Condition
Good to very good visual condition with edges cut down, possibly a fragment from a larger piece, light toning, some scattered stains and spotting, areas of minor craquelure to dark-colored paint and at heavy applications of paint, a few creases, a small hole at man's lower hand thumb.
