Busyaeger, Johann Georg (John George) (American/Westmoreland County, c.1805-1841), Pennsylvania Fraktur, c.1823, ink and watercolor on paper, signed by Busyaeger, Hempfield Township, Westmoreland County, and dated at bottom, 8 x 12.5 inches, matted and framed 12 x 17 inches. Names mentioned on the Fraktur: Daniel Busch, Anna Maria, Magdalena Schmelzerin. Busyaeger was the most prolific of the Westmoreland County Fraktur artists. Many of his pieces are in the permanent collection of the Westmoreland Museum of Art. Provenance: The Estate of Charles H. Booth Jr., New Kensington, PA.
Condition
