Lot of two manuals from the Civil War era, includes: ‘Manual of Arms’ (Albany, New York: Weed, Parsons and Company Printers), 1858. 32pp. 8vo., green boards with gilt title, and ‘Infantry Drill Regulations’ (New York: Army and Naval Journal), 1861. 353pp. 16mo., paperback. ‘Manual of Arms’ was released for troops working with the percussion musket while ‘Infantry Drill Regulations’ details proper positioning while carrying arms, marching formations, ceremonies, etc. Both books display damp staining and wear consistent with age, however all pages remain intact. Overall, very good.
