Description
Tatyana Glebova, Russian, 1900 to 1985, a tempera on paperboard painting Oranienbaum,1962, depicting an abstract landscape. Signed, titled, and dated verso. Matted and framed. Note: Tatyana Glebova was a Russian and Soviet artist, the wife of Vladimir Sterligov, a Soviet avant-garde artist, and a student of Kazimir Malevich. In 1926 Glebova met Pavel Filonov and became his student. She also joined a group of artists called Masters of Analytic Art. This artwork shows the direct influence of Filonov and his circle. Provenance: the painting was purchased directly from Glebova's relatives in the 1990s. One of a kind of artwork. Collectible Soviet Postwar Abstract Graphic Art.
