Georgiy Nissky, Belarusian, Soviet era, 1903 to 1987, oil painting on canvas mounted on board, Railway. Signed lower right. Probably inscribed, lower left. Framed. Georgiy Nissky is known for Industrial landscape, marine, transportation, figure and genre painting. Soviet artist Georgy Nissky is considered the founder of the so called severe style, the master of the industrial landscape. Peoples Artist of the RSFSR 1965, winner of the Stalin Prize of the third degree 1951, Member of the USSR Academy of Arts, he has art work in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, and in most of the major museums of the former USSR. One of a kind artwork.
