SHOZAN FOR THE KINKOZAN COMPANY
A Satsuma-Ware Trumpet Vase
Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th/early 20th century
Decorated in enamels and gilt with a continuous design of a lone crow peering over its shoulder while perched on a large willow tree, the neck and foot decorated with bands of shippo-tsunagi (linked-cash); signed left of the tree trunk in an oval seal Shozan and on the base in gilt Kinkozan tsukuru. 21.7cm (8½in) high.
