Description
Egyptian–Late Period (664-332 BCE). Finely carved wood sarcophagus mask with serene facial features and extensive remains of original polychrome. Dimesions: 9 1/2" H. Provenance: Ex Explorer Ancient Art, 2011 acquired by Dr. Henry Cherrick, a professor and dean at UCLA School of dentistry who pioneered government programs promoting dental care in HIV/AIDs patients. He was an avid collector of fine art and antiquities and died at the age of 84 in 2023.
