GORHAM COIN SILVER AND WHITING STERLING SILVER SERVING UTENSILS, LOT OF TWO, comprising a coin silver "Grecian" serving, possibly toast or sandwich, tongs by Gorham Mfg. Co. of Providence, RI with engraved decoration and "F.K.J." initials to back of handle, and a sterling silver "Empire" soup/punch ladle by Whiting Mfg. Co. of North Attleboro, MA, New York City, NY, and Bridgeport, CT having a hanging hook to back of handle. Tongs without maker's mark being marked "PATENT 1861" and "COIN", ladle with maker's mark in addition to "STERLING", "PAT. APPD. FOR", and a retailer's mark for Charles F. Rudolph of Wilmington, DE. Total weight: 7.870 ozt. Second half 19th/early 20th century. 10 1/4" and 10 3/4" LOA.
Condition
Very good overall condition with some wear, surface scratches, and nicks, minor worn spots to raised decoration.
