Description
Peru, Ca. 1200 to 1450 AD. A postmodern expression done by a pre modern artist! Cotton woven linen serves as a canvas for lively humanoid and zoomorphic creatures to interact. The cloth may have functioned as a burial mantle and the subject matter affirms the connection between the natural and the spirit world beyond. Natural beige cloth painted with tan and orange pigment. Size: 16-1/2 H x 46-1/4 x 1-3/4 in. W., mounted in giltwood frame. Provenance: Ex.
