Description
VALLEY OF VIRGINIA DECORATED STONEWARE JAR,salt-glazed,approximately half-gallon capacity, ovoid form with neck ring, high, slightly flaring neck, plain rim, and applied arched handles. Brushed cobalt dropped feather decoration repeated three times on shoulder to each side, additional cobalt to handle terminals.Possibly J.W. Gardner, Craigs Mills, Washington County, VA. Circa 1875.7 1/2" HOA, 5" D rim.
