Chinese Inscribed Guan-Type Octagonal Vase. Of compressed globular body with eight faceted sides sloping a tall neck with a dish mouth rim, the neck and body decorated with raised bands, covered overall with a thick pale bluish celadon glaze suffused with dark iron gray crackles, the base incised with an inscription, the rim bound in a metal band. {Height: 8.5 inches (21.6 cm)}. Condition: Oxidation and scratches to rim, surface wear, manufacturing defects, glaze losses, spur marks on the base.
