Native American, Northwestern United States, Shoshone Bannock, ca. early to mid-20th century CE. A lovely brass belt buckle with a rawhide covering entirely hand stitched with hundreds of glass seed beads. The beads are arranged in an eye-catching geometric pattern that consists of an orange and yellow circle with triangles radiating outward with a turquoise blue ground. The interior row of beads in black and white may represent eagle feathers with a red tip to indicate warrior status. On the verso is a prong and bar for wearing this beautiful piece. Size: 4.25" L x 2.375" W (10.8 cm x 6 cm)
