Robert Frost Signed Copy of "North of Boston", Excellent 2nd Edition
A signed copy of "North of Boston" by Robert Frost. New York: Henry Holt and Company, 1915. Second Edition, copyright page states 1914, 1915. Twelvemo, ix, 11-137pp. Signed on the title page "Robert Frost 1931." Also signed on the front free end page by the previous owner, "Margaret Dunlap Newton/May 6, 1915/M.D.M.P." Blue cloth-covered boards with gilt titling on the front cover and at the spine. Deckled page edges. The book has some slight warping to the front cover as well as minor cocked binding. The internal pages have some faint toning and chipping to the edges. Boldly signed by Frost. Overall very good.
The volume features seventeen of Frost's poems, including "Mending Wall", "The Death of the Hired Man", and "After Apple-Picking". The majority of the poems deal with themes surrounding New England themes and Yankee farmers.
Robert Frost (1874-1963) was a beloved American poet, known for his depictions of realistic rural life and for using complex social and philosophical themes. This volume was first published in 1914 by David Nutt in Great Britain and received a positive review by Ezra Pound. Following its success, it was republished in the U.S.
