A nice association piece: a signed limited edition leather-bound volume of his revealing book ?Blind Ambition: The White House Years? (New York: Simon & Schuster, 1976), 415pp. 8vo. This personalized copy was presented to Dean?s long-time personal secretary Jane E. Thomas Quann, and is gilt-stamped with her name on the cover. On the half title page, Dean pens in bold marker: ?To Jane: Now you know how little I told my secretary! With fond wishes, John Dean P.S. I miss you!!?
Edges and cover bear light wear, lightly bumped corners and a bit of wear to spine, overall very good condition.
John Dean III (b. 1938) is an American attorney and former White House Counsel to Richard M. Nixon, best remembered for this role in covering-up the scandal and making subsequent plea deal, in which he pled guilty to one felony charge in exchange for ultimately becoming a key prosecutorial witness. Dean served a short sentence and was thence disbarred.
