Vintage oil painting, with no discernible Signature.Depicting a woman in blue robes woman holding an Ankh in one hand and the headpiece of Hathor, next to her sits a young man depicted as the god Osiris, holding two crosses rods in front of his chest and long Decorative headpiece. Hathor was one of the forty-two state gods and goddesses of Egypt, and one of the most popular and powerful. She was goddess of many things: love, beauty, music, dancing, fertility, and pleasure. Osiris, one of Egypt's most important deities, was god of the underworld. He also symbolized death, resurrection, and the cycle of Nile floods that Egypt relied on for agricultural fertility. According to the myth, Osiris was a king of Egypt who was murdered and dismembered by his brother Seth.Professionally framed in gold patina and black wooden frame. Approximately 26 x 19.5 inches.
