The arched painted dial with Roman hours and Arabic minutes with subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture surmounted by a rolling moonphase dial signed JOHN + GAINES / PORTSMOUTH, the twin train movement striking on a bell.
height 82in (208cm); width 18 1/2in (47cm); depth 9 1/2in (24cm)

Condition

Dial and movement probably associated. The dial with heavy craquelure, discoloration and scattered areas of losses. Hands oxidized. Case with general marks, nicks, scratches, cracks and wear. Oxidation to mounts. With pendulum and weights.
