Ancient Central Asia, Bactria, ca. 2500 to 2250 BCE. A hand-carved carnelian pendant depicting a petite fish with incised scales and fins as well as one single eye. A suspension hole is situated above the eye that hands similarly to a fish caught on a line. Size: 1.06" L x 0.92" W (2.7 cm x 2.3 cm)

Repaired along verso with small chips and light adhesive residue along break lines. Minor softening to some incised details and light earthen deposits. Piscine form is still recognizable.
