Automaton enamel and gilt musical bird box, German, early 20th C., case by Emil Brenk, movement likely by Karl Griesbaum, case beautifully designed on all sides with classical motifs including circular vignettes on sides and top with a garden scene with a male figure and two women, sliding button on front opens cover to reveal a feathered automaton bird that flap wings and opens beak while singing and twirling around atop a reticulated oval panel, winding mechanism to base along with marks "EB" and "METALL", "German" stamped on back base rim, wear consistent with age and use including rubbing of gilt, no winding key, wear to feathers, etc., 2" h. x 4 1/8" w. x 2 5/8" d.
