An SS dagger BY Richard Abr. Herder, Solingen. A fair example, the black grip shrank at one point leaving it not fitting as well as it should. It has been repainted with two chips filled and the eagle reset. The original SS button is present, though its enamel is lost. The nickle-plated cross guards are good to very good, the lower is district-marked 'I'. The motto lettering on the blade remains quite dark, as is the Herder mark, though the blade itself has been heavily cleaned. The painted scabbard is present, bearing no dents or dings but the paint very worn and three of four screws attaching the fittings are lost. Original hanger marked 'RZM M50/93' is also present.
