Early pattern NSKK dagger made by the seldom seen firm of Hammesfahr Cie., Solingen, with an original scabbard. The dagger has solid nickel silver fittings throughout. The crossguards and pommel nut are in very good condition, the nut showing no sign of forced removal. The lower reverse guard is Gruppe/Gau marked 'P' for Pommern (Pomeranian Region). The grip has a nice deep brownish-red color, with only a tiny chip to the finish. Its fit to the crossguards is perfect. The SA button is still nicely set, though the enamel is flawed, the inset eagle is a perfect fit. The blade bears some surface corrosion, the engraved motto still maintains much of its original darkening. The Hammesfahr mark on the reverse is distinct. The scabbard's original black paint has been slightly retouched, and lacks rings for the hanger, the fittings otherwise very good. A rare maker!
