28" TALL CLASSIC GREEK WHITE PLASTER BUST OF GODDESS ARIADNE
Regarded as the Goddess of Paths and Labyrinths, Ariadne had been turned to stone and killed by Perseus at Argos with the head of Medusa during Perseus' war with Dionysus. After her death, Dionysus traveled to the underworld and brought Ariadne back to life to became his immortal wife.
Inspired by an Ariadne bust created by neoclassical artist Bertel Thorvaldsen (c. 1805-1810).This bust is after the antique recreated by Leone Clerici, Italy,1882.
