Irving Marantz (1912-1972) New York, Oil on Canvas. Abstract portrait of a woman with a yellow fan. Signed Marantz in the lower left. Writing on the back saying "woman with yellow fan" and "Marantz 1959". Marantz was known forabstract figure-object-imagery. He exhibited among others at the Guggenheim Museum, Museum of Modern Arts in NY, Metropolitan Museum in NY, and others. Marantz was the director of the Princetown Art Association and Museum, and taught at theBrooklyn Museum Art School where he has an exterior sculpture.
