Description
Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Nayarit, Chinesco type, Protoclassic Period, ca. 100 BCE to 250 CE. A hand-built pottery Chinesco figure, so called because early collectors believed the form of these figures resembled some styles of Chinese art. Intricate linear motifs in red, black, and white course across the figure and create a mesmerizing presentation. Size: 2.875" W x 6.4" H (7.3 cm x 16.3 cm); 6.875" H (17.5 cm) on included custom stand.

Minor nicks and abrasions, with fading to pigments in scattered areas, otherwise intact and very good. Nice preservation to pigment and great craquelure.
