Description
This is a photograph of a Civil War soldier's family of 7, spanning 3 generations. Everyone, save for Grandfather, is focused on the Civil War soldier and the youngster on his lap. Albumen print. Circa 1860s. On original mount. Partial old mat affixed at upper left and right. With loose oval mat and plaster frame. Photo with mount is approximately 6 5/16 x 8 1/4 inches. Oval mat is approximately 6 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches. Frame is approximately 10 x 12 inches.

Photo: Missing thin bit of emulsion in the upper left portion. Spotting (perhaps residue) and bits of paper along top edge. A bit of old paper affixed at center of left edge. Partial mat covers up upper left and right. Original mount: Missing lower left corner. Spots and soiling. Oval mat: Unevenly trimmed. Soiling and discoloration. Frame: Poor condition.
