This is a very nice, antique Chinese painting and, according to the old receipt, it is circa 1760, 18th century. It depicts a simple Scholars hut set in a leafy garden protected by a stand of large, old deciduous trees and small garden fence. Inside the hut is a Ming-style study table decorated with a vase of flowers and a stack of books. Next to the table is Ming style stool. A very lovely little painting.

Painting, ink on old silk canvas, Unmounted, but still retains a silk brocade mat surround and is ready for framing.
