c. 1820 Early 19th Century, "Dr. Franklin's Maxim" Child's Cup with Brown Transfer Images, England, Very Fine.
This cute child's cup measures about 3" in diameter and 2.75" tall. Its white with brown text and vignettes that reads, in full:
"Dr Franklin's Maxims / Industry need not wish and he who lives upon hope will die fasting / There are no gains without pains; then help hands for I have no lands".
Two brown color transfer images of men laboring, one mowing a lawn, the other planting a tree. Nice for display.
