c. 1820 Early 19th Century, Benjamin Franklin Historic Theme Child's Mug / Cup, "The Way to Wealth of Dr Franklin's Poor Richard Illustrated / Industry Temperance Frugality," Decorative Black Transfer, Staffordshire, England, Choice Very Fine.
This is one of the more famous historical Benjamin Franklin Sayings Theme child's Mug / Cup that measures about 2.75" in diameter and stands 2.5" tall. text reads: "The Way to Wealth of Dr Franklin's Poor Richard Illustrated / Being Lessons for Youth on Industry Temperance Frugality &c He that by the plough would thrive himself must either hold or drive The eye of a master will do more work than both his hands." Lightly used and very clean having no major detractions, a nice glaze and pleasing with superior eye appeal. Rich black text and a wonderful period image of a man watching a boy assisting his inspecting a flock of sheep.
