Of imposing size, Anton Dominik Ritter von Fernkorn (Austrian 1813-1878) St. George and the Dragon, 1862, bronze with golden brown patination, signed A.v.Fernkorn and dated 1862, inscribed Wien. On rouge marble base.
Dimensions: 21 in.h. x 20 in. w. x 8 in. depth not including marble base, 24 in.h. x 21 x 12 in. including base.
Condition: Very good with no damage or restoration.
Note: A monumental version of this work is recorded in a photograph of the Exposition Universelle, Paris, 1855, where it was placed in the center of the sculpture court.
