The jardinière and matching stand of earthenware molded on the surface with koi fish in crashing waves and lichen-covered rocks, all in high relief and painted in polychrome enamels and gilt, the neck decorated with stylized phoenixes and floral lozenges, the rim with a key-fret band, signed on the underside Dai Nihon Rokuzan zō and with the Shimazu family mark
