Beauty Reading with Her Attendant
Edo period (1615-1868), late 17th century
A hanging scroll in ink, color, and gold on silk of a beauty sitting in front of a two-panel folding screen depicting flowers of autumn, an open book perched on her bent knee, an attendant seated to the right, sealed Morofusa
With a futomaki wood roller and a wood storage box that fits the scroll and roller combined 12 3/8 x 15 1/8in (31.4 x 38.4cm)
