With woodcut title-vignette, 57 woodcuts and 2 folding plates. - Venetian edition of this work on the military, sports and baths in classical antiquity first published in 1555, the first edition with Sansovino's appendix on the Turkish military, including 14 illustrations of Turkish soldiers. - Contemporary carta rustica binding (uncut, somewhat rubbed and stained). - Binding slightly loosened. In some places quite heavily waterstained, browned or with brownstaining.
