Cont. half vellum with gilt cover label and marbled covers (somewhat rubbed and bumped). - Atlas volume to the first French edition, without the text volumes. - With large map of the itinerary as well as maps of Lake Chad, among others. The plates show natives, animals, equipment and landscapes. - Foxing throughout, and some browning and finger staining. The folded map with two tears in the white margin, one of them backed. Two plates with small lack in outter white margin.

Die Tafeln zeigen Eingeborene, Tiere, Geräte und Landschaften. - Durchgehend stockfleckig, sowie teils etwas braun- und fingerfleckig. Die gefaltete Karte mit zwei Einrissen im weißen Rand, davon einer hinterlegt. Zwei Tafeln mit kl. Fehlstelle im äußersten weißen Rand.
