The canvas tension is stiff and the picture bows forward slightly. The paint layers have a network of age cracks, some of which are slightly raised and there are a few scattered losses across the surface. The varnish is clear, glossy with a few matte spots across the surface. Areas of overpaint are mainly located in the background.
