TWO FINE LARGE CHINESE WANLI KRAAK PORCELAIN BLUE & WHITE CHARGERS c 1600 - 1620, one bearing VOC seal to reverse, both chargers decorated in bold underglaze blue, the first with a large central eight point panel depicting birds and cranes in natural landscape settings, with ruyi heads to each corner, the rim with eight panels of various object including scroll, gourds, native flora and auspicious objetcs, the underside with panels of funghi, clouds and pearl, 47.5cm - with a glued repaired section and crack. The second charger with a large central panel of floral display and lotus in a fenced garden, the eight corners with ruyi heads, the rim decorated with eight panels of various object including auspicious objects, peach, lotus and gourds, the underside further decorated with funghi, cloud and pearl dots. 49cm, with a chip and two hairlines. Provenance: from one private U.K household where they have resided since at least 1930.
