An Empire Doré and Patinated Bronze Mantel Clock Figuring Theseus
France, first quarter 19th century, patinated bronze model of Theseus lifting a rock to reveal his father's sword, gilt round dial with ouroboros motif border and Roman numeral hour markers, brass works numbered 103 to verso, sarcophagus base having relief panel depicting Aegeus preventing Theseus from quaffing poisoned cup of Medea, raised on sphinx relief feet. Includes pendulum, without key.
